Designated in 1881, Garfield Park is the oldest city-operated greenspace in Indianapolis. The park is located on Indy's southside and is home to a Conservatory, Sunken Gardens (designed by George Kessler), the Garfield Park Arts Center, a Pagoda, the Burrello Family Center, an aquatics center, the MacAllister Amphitheater, a library, a fire station, and many sport courts and playgrounds. The park is accessible via the Pleasant Run Trail and the IndyGo Red Line.
